Move over Martha...

Today was a GREAT day!

After reading some things online about making jam, I decided that I wanted to make some. I've wanted to do it before (after buying bushels of berries from the farmers market) but never had the courage. I kept reading that it "wasn't that hard" "was easy" or "was easier than expected."

As soon as everyone awoke from nap, we ventured out to The Peach Stand (a Fort Mill landmark) and bought some peaches. We headed to HT after that for some strawberries.

I came home, sanitized everything and started chopping. We followed the directions and IT WAS EASY!!!! :-)

I jarred it, proccessed it and voila! I made strawberry jam!

Big Boy

One of my favorite things...

about being a mom is seeing the sheer joy on Roo's face.

We decided to make pudding today and she gobbled it right up. (I think it's the first time she's ever had it because she couldn't remember what it was called.)

Funny Bug

Roo started gym class at The Little Gym a few weeks ago. We *thought* she'd love it. She's clumsy and could always use the skills that they practice (tumbling, balance, dexarity). She has even taken a gym class through her daycare.

Well...it hasn't gone exactly as planned.

The first week, she loved it! It took her 5 minutes to warm up to the crowd and she was off and running. The second week was the same. Last week, we also had a "make-up day." That was a nightmare! She screamed the entire first 15 minutes and we ended up having to walk out.

She even told me that she DIDN'T want to go back today. Well, being the pushy-bitch mother that I am, I took her back. We've paid for 10 weeks, damn it. The kid IS going. Jim has been my gibraltar. He even came to her class today to encourage her to participate. He has vowed to come every Wednesday from now on.

New Spectacles

I've finally gotten new glasses! Horray!

J and I decided several months ago that we needed new specks. I have been looking for ones for ages. I finally found some that I love. I'm not sure how they look, but I like them! :-)
