33 Weeks 1 Day

Today I had an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid. Everything looks great and Goofy is still a boy. Here's a profile shot I got.

His nose is in the air, he's sleeping and his hands are up by his mouth. By U/S they estimate his weight at 4 lbs. At this rate, I suspect he'll be between 7 and 8 lbs, just like Roo.

School Days

It's that time of year...errr ok, not quite.

J and I decided that we should start thinking about where we'd like Roo to go to preschool. Sound simple enough, right? Well, there's half day, full day, private, church-based, daycare settings, school settings, etc. The list goes on and on.

Because of some great references (namely Weston) we decided to check out our new church, St. Philip Neri's program. Last week we toured the school and everything looked great. She'd be in a class with 14 students, 2 teachers and countless activities including, spanish lessons and computer class! It will be 9 am to 12 pm. 2 days (T,TH) or 3 days (M,W,F) a week.

So Monday was D-Day. I had to take Roo to her current school and then head over to the church for registration which started at 8:30 am. I pulled into the parking lot at 7:55 am and there was already a woman in line. Ugh. I quickly got into line behind her and hung out in 32 degrees of loveliness. About 5 minutes later a couple with twin sons pulled up. Ok, Riley was number 2 of 4. Good huh?

The lady from the office took our papers and numbered them and said we were free to go and they would call us. So, until then we wait...

The Boy Has No Name

There once was a little boy by the name of Goofy.

His sister (2.5 years old) lovingly nick-named him months prior to his actual arrival. He was named after a character on her favorite show "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse." What's not to love about the name?! It's a great adjective, it's short and to the point. Better yet, when sister called him, it often sounded like "Juicy." Like a big juicy orange. Sounds delightful.

After months and months of pouring over countless sites, books and magazines, mom and dad could NOT decide (read: agree) upon a suitable name. On the day he was born (hopefully on or before his due date) the stars were aligned perfectly and Mom and Dad had the "ah-ha!" moment they'd been waiting for...

"You will have a boy and you shall name him, Goofy Brown." So it was said, and so it was done.

Ok, ok, this won't be how the story ends but as it stands, we're still at a stalemate and have not chosen a name for this boy. I'm 33 weeks today, so we have about 7 weeks.

Maybe we'll wait until we get a good look at him...although I hope not.

Welcome!

Welcome to our family blog.

Inspiration will be sought from many places including our days and nights in the Brown house as well as mindless musings.

Our hope is that we can keep you, our family and friends, in touch with our daily goings on.

Stay tuned for more!
