I love converstations with Roo. 3 year olds attempt to make sense...but aren't always quite there.
"Mommy, I want more fingers."
"Huh?"
"Yeah, 3 (pointing to hand) over here and two (pointing to other hand) over here"
"Why?"
"Because it will make my hands not hurt so bad."
"Do your hands hurt?"
"No."
Hmmm...Okay?

IT'S OFFICIAL!
I haven't mentioned it on the blog before because I didn't want to jinx myself (or something) but...it's official. I turned in my resignation to CCC yesterday. I was INCREDIBLY nervous and I had a tremendous amount of guilt about leaving "my boys." That's all gone now.
I went in and showed Jack-Jack off. Everyone was gushed about what a good little boy he was. We were there just about 4 hours (went to lunch too) and he barely made a peep. :-) My sweet.
The entire office wished us well, which was really nice. David said that he was happy for us and that I was making the right decision. Thankfully, he completely understood.
The weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm done...
I am a stay at home mother. WOW! I couldn't be happier. :-)

6 Weeks
Jack is 6 weeks old today. He's getting so big.
He is...
- about 9.5 lbs
- drinking about 4 oz a feeding
- sleeping in 3-4 hour stretches at night
- a little love bug that loves to be held, especially at sleepy times
- on a good routine (albeit not as good as Roo was at this age)
- a good baby but feisty when he is being ignored
I love a parade!
This week was "Week of the Young Child" Roo's school.
The week was filled with fun activites including a visit from The Cat in the Hat, making t-shirts with mom and a parade! Roo LOVED seeing the cat. She said he was very funny and not scary at all! He even took time to read to the kids and visit. Roo said she didn't hug him but does wat to see him again. :-)
Friday's plan was a parade! All of the classes lined up with their new shirts and hats on (well not Roo) and march around the parking lot. There were TONS of moms and dads and the kids really loved it.
Here are some pictures...

Cheese!
Ok, well not quite...
I've been "practicing" smiling with Jack for a few weeks. We've seen fleeting smiles (read: facial twitches) during his plentiful naps. When he is awake, I sit in front of him and smile as big as I can. I'm just hoping to finally catch a glimse of a that smile.
He smiled at J yesterday and I was so disappointed. I'm the one who has been training him, right? Where's my love?!
Well, today I got it. We'd just gotten back from Wal-mart (yikes) and I was getting him set up in his boppy. Suddenly, he curls his lip (think Elvis meets Joey from Friends "How you doin'?") and SMILES! It was only for a second but it was definately intentional!
He'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. My how time flies!

For the record, it was something like this...although this picture was taken 2 weeks ago.

Mystery Broken Window
After a lovely dinner tonight J looked at me and said, "Do you realize Roo has a broken window in her room?"
"WHAT?!"
Apparently he was opening her blinds a few nights ago and noticed that the inside pane of the double paned window broke.
Damn. How on earth would that happen? It's about 2 feet above Roo's head and we would have noticed if we'd hit it.
Gotta call the builder I guess.

Swinging Sister
Roo is one swinging sister now...
Today's surprise was that her birthday present from Papa and Grandma was installed! A NEW play set. She is thrilled to have her own swings and sliding board! Her friend Reagan came over to check it out as well as cousins Justin and Weston. Everyone had a great time!

I didn't fall off the face of the earth...
I didn't fall off the face of the earth...our computer died. Well to be more precise, J killed it. I hope to be back up and running with lots of updates sometime this next week.
