Busy Bee...

I've been a busy little bee these last few days getting us set up for our big Disney trip. I've been trying to work out our "schedule" for maximum relaxation and fun! The only plans I've relaly been making are for meals. Meaning, if we want to eat at a certain sit-down restaurant, I want to make sure we have reservations. I think I'm finally settled.

Here's what our time there looks like... (just in case anyone is interested)

2/9 - Disney's Hollywood Studios
B - Home
L - Some counter service at DHS. Maybe Rosie's or Pizza Planet?
D - 50's Prime Time Cafe

2/10 - Magic Kingdom
B - Captain Cook's (in Polynesian Resort)
Family Photo Shoot at Polynesian
L - Snack at Main Street Bakery
D - Cinderella's Royal Table (where we will meet Cinderella and her posse)

2/11 - Magic Kingdom
B - Crystal Palace (where we will meet Pooh, Tigger and other friends)
L - Snack
D - Cosmic Rays

2/12 - Epcot
B - Chef Mickey's (in Contemporary Resort)
L - Snack
D - No idea!

2/13 - Animal Kingdom
B - At Resort
L - Flame Tree
D - Yak & Yeti (African Theme)

2/14 - Magic Kingdom
B - At Resort
L - Columbia Harbor House
D - Kona Cafe (in Polynesian Resort)

2/15 - Disney's Hollywood Studios
B - Hollywood & Vine (where we will meet Jojo, Goliath, Leo and June from Playhouse Disney)
L - Snack
D - Wolfgang Puck Express (in Downtown Disney)

2/16 - Animal Kingdom
B - At Resort
L - Flame Tree Grill
D - Home :-(

We are on the Disney Dining Plan which is available to anyone that is staying on the property in any of the hotels. We get one table service (a sitdown meal with waiter, either buffet style or menu), one counter service (like fast food) and one snack (like muffin, icecream, popcorn, fruit or drink) a day. This is the first time we have done any of these sitdown restaurants so this should be really interesting. They've always been so cost prohibative, but with the DDP we are able to visit a few and meet some characters.

Elizabeth- When you go to these "dinner" restaurants- know that the portions are plenty big enough to share (if you need to conserve your dinner's to pay for some of the character meals- which charge you for 2 dinners) Also the breakfast comes with 2 drinks each (coffee & water or juice). We would get a bottle of water as one of our drinks and take it with us to the parks. have fun! (kim's mom)

Thanks for the tip Ginny! Sadly, Jim is not one to share meals. I'm looking forward to bringing stuff back to the room for late night snacks though! :-)

Awesome to know about the water though. I'm always game for more water!

The nice part about the water is if you only get one drink for your counter service- you loose the drink. Wayne would get milk & water and I would get water & coffee. That way we both had a bottle of water to start the day. The employees are good to help you with what is available when you ask. I know you will have a good time.

I would recommend that you program the 407-wdw-dine number in your phone in case you need to switch your reservations around on the fly. If you call 407-wdw-info, you can find out what the status of rides, fast passes, wait times etc. so you don't have to cross the park for one ride or whatever.

If you're doing Dumbo, you want to get into the park as quickly as possible and get on the first load. That ride is so freaking so loading and you've wasted a lot of time waiting in the lines when you could be doing other rides. And then those ride lines are filling up faster and now you're stuck in lines. There are similar rides in Dinoland in the AK. Also, Aladdin's Carpets in MK.

There's a stationary Dumbo near the ride that you can put the kids in and snap their picture so you'll have them in Dumbo. Do it from under them and it will look like they were on it. :p

In Fantasy Land, you'll want to do Pooh and Pan first as those fill up quickest. The Tea Cups and It's A Small World are always easy to get in. Do those later. Also, don't waste a FP on Mickey's Philharmagic. You can always get in. It's a good show.

A good place to take a break is at Town Hall ride inside of MK (to the right if you're entering). Go all the way to the back. There is an old time theater with a bunch of cut outs for the kids to put their faces through. Apparently this is where all of the characters come in and out because we saw 5 of them in 5 minutes when they were taking a break. Most of them signed autographs and took pictures with the kids. No one goes back there. It's a little oasis away from the people.

Where are you staying?

Damnit. Now I want to go back. :(

Gah Kim! You are amazing! I will definately put the INFO number in my phone. I think I call the DINE number 2 or 3 times a week...so it's already in there. ;-)

We are slumming it at the all star music. It's no Grand Floridian, but it'll be fun!

Thanks Han! Maybe we'll come do DL with you one day. :-)
